Sacred Kingfisher

I had originally planned to showcase the Azure Kingfisher but … too late, we have already lost that species in SA. Being migratory these birds require large tracts of land, and watercourses to support them. Here I have alluded to the illuminated manuscripts highlighting the sacred and precious environment we share. And on finishing the print, what a great satisfaction it was to first hear and then see a pair flying and swooping about in our local Stringybark forest!
